The address is to the horse’s body as a whole, leading the individual body as close as possible, in it’s current state of ‘disease’, toward homeostasis.
A very old or very sick animal will take as much as it can and benefit from it as much as an equine athlete.
The series of gentle moves over specific points on the body, in a predetermined pattern, such as fixed and insert points of muscles and tendons, opposing muscle groups and energy meridians, have the effect of releasing muscular tension, addressing energy blockages and improving blood flow and lymphatic action.
The horse processes the moves (as in the picture on the left) and will often go into a deep relaxation, releasing tension and reducing the pain spiral.
